Aurora borealis possible over Poland following solar mass ejection
A solar coronal mass ejection has reached Earth, creating conditions for a potential aurora borealis over Poland. Astronomer Karol Wójcicki reports that satellites at the L1 point are measuring strong parameters following a plasma cloud released by the Sun several days ago.
If magnetic storm conditions persist, the aurora is highly likely to appear in northern Poland, with a possibility of visibility in central and southern regions during the peak of the storm. The current new moon phase provides exceptionally dark skies, which are ideal for observation.
Observers are advised to seek locations away from artificial light, such as open fields or forest edges, and to look for clear skies. The best viewing window is expected from dusk until approximately 2:00 AM. While some regions like Wielkopolska may face partial cloud cover, clearing skies are expected from the west.
