Ausl Romagna faces scrutiny over executive bonuses amid budget deficit

Political tension has emerged in Emilia-Romagna regarding performance bonuses awarded to top administrators at Ausl Romagna. Fratelli d’Italia regional councilor Luca Pestelli has announced an inquiry into the regional government following the decision to grant Tiziano Carradori, the Director General, an additional compensation of approximately 28,198 euros.

The total amount for bonuses designated for the health agency’s leadership and Board of Statutory Auditors is 81,337 euros, which exceeds 105,000 euros when including taxes and social security contributions. The opposition highlights a contradiction between these incentives and the agency’s financial state, noting a 17.9 million euro deficit in the 2025 budget. Pestelli criticized the decision to award bonuses while the regional government implements tax increases and pharmaceutical co-pays to address healthcare funding gaps.
