Austin City Limits Music Festival impacts local music and park funding

The Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival continues to impact both the local music scene and the city's infrastructure. During a recent performance on the Snapchat Stage, the Los Angeles-based band Sunday (1994) played a set characterized by a rainy atmosphere. The performance featured frontwoman Paige Turner, guitarist Lee Newell, drummer Jason Puma, and guest bassist Radha Windham.

Beyond the musical programming, the festival maintains a long-standing financial relationship with the Austin Parks Foundation (APF). For 21 years, ACL has generated over $79 million for Zilker Park and various other public spaces across Austin through ticket sales and other revenues. In 2024, the festival contributed $8.5 million to the APF.

Organizers, including C3 Presents, have committed to remediating any damage to Zilker Park caused by the event. Proceeds from recent festivals are being directed toward numerous community projects, such as playground replacements at Chestnut Pocket Park, construction at Grand Meadow, and the establishment of Austin’s first all-abilities playground at Onion Creek Metro Park.
