Austin Hill faces uncertain future at Richard Childress Racing

Contract negotiations between Austin Hill and Richard Childress Racing (RCR) have reached an impasse, creating uncertainty regarding his position in the No. 33 Chevrolet for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season.

While Hill is currently considered the leading candidate for the seat due to his performance in both the Cup Series and the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, as well as his sponsor integration, RCR is reportedly evaluating other options. Josh Berry has emerged as a potential contingency candidate following news that Wood Brothers Racing will replace him with Jesse Love in the No. 21 Ford next season.

In related news, reports suggest Hill may run a Zone/Cumberland Farms ‘Sweet Coffee’ paint scheme at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, though an official reveal has not yet occurred.
