Austin Hill to drive No. 33 Chevrolet full-time for RCR in 2027
Richard Childress Racing (RCR) has announced that Austin Hill will drive the No. 33 Chevrolet full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series starting in 2027. Hill, who has been a member of the RCR lineup since 2022, will transition to the top-tier series after completing his current commitments in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series through the 2026 season.
Hill has been driving the No. 33 Chevrolet in select Cup races following the sudden passing of Kyle Busch on May 21. RCR renumbered the entry from No. 8 to No. 33 out of respect for Busch and his family. Hill has expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting that competing full-time in the Cup Series is a lifelong dream.
Since joining RCR, Hill has achieved significant success in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, including 16 race wins and a 2023 regular season championship. RCR Chairman and CEO Richard Childress praised Hill’s talent, work ethic, and growth across multiple levels of competition as the primary drivers for this promotion.
