Austin Mack posts Randy Moss‑style performance as Edmonton Elks beat Saskatchewan
Austin Mack recorded 173 receiving yards on four catches with two touchdowns in the Edmonton Elks’ 36‑34 road victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The production echoed Randy Moss’s famous rookie showing and led the Elks to a third straight win, moving them to the top of the West Division.
Quarterback Cody Fajardo threw for a career‑best 510 yards and four touchdowns, while Mack, now in his first season with Edmonton, leads the team with 34 catches for 579 yards and five TDs. The former Ohio State receiver joined the Elks in late January after leaving the Montreal Alouettes amid a disputed bonus, reuniting with Fajardo, with whom he won the 2023 Grey Cup. Mack said the game felt like a “dream” and highlighted the play‑action design that created the big plays.
The win keeps the Elks on track for their first CFL playoff berth since 2019, and the teams are scheduled to meet again at Commonwealth Stadium the following Saturday.
