Austin Peay State University announces athletic updates

Austin Peay State University athletics has announced several updates regarding its sports programs. Head basketball coach Corey Gipson unveiled the highest-rated recruiting class in the department's history. The group includes 10 newcomers, consisting of eight freshmen and two veteran transfers, such as senior guard Shamarrie Hugie from Marshall and sophomore guard Chuck Love III from Loyola Chicago.

In softball, head coach Kassie Stanfill announced the five-game fall schedule for 2026. The schedule includes matchups against Northwestern Mississippi Community College, Murray State, Bethel, Vol State, and Gadsden State. The fall season will conclude with the annual Red & Black World Series from October 21 to October 23.
