Austin Smotherman wins Bank of Utah Championship

Austin Smotherman secured his first PGA Tour victory at the Bank of Utah Championship, held at the Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah. In his 100th career start, the 32-year-old finished with a tournament-record score of 26-under 258, winning by two strokes over Doug Ghim.

Smotherman maintained control for much of the final round but faced a challenge at the par-4 13th hole, where a difficult bunker shot resulted in a double bogey. This error narrowed his lead to one stroke, but he quickly recovered with a birdie on the 14th and another on the 18th to seal the win.

The victory earns Smotherman a $1.08 million prize and a two-year PGA Tour exemption. The win also positions him to qualify for the 2027 Championship Series and is projected to raise his FedEx Cup Fall standing to No. 51.
