Australia and New Zealand crack down on drug supply networks

In New South Wales, police intercepted a vehicle driven by 24‑year‑old Jazmine Stoimenoff on the Sydney‑Newcastle corridor and found 494.7 grams of cocaine, cash and a bag of the drug. Stoimenoff pleaded guilty to supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug in Newcastle Local Court and avoided immediate detention, with sentencing pending.

In Christchurch, New Zealand, police seized assets worth about $4.8 million as part of Operation Shelby, targeting the King Cobra organised‑crime group. Four properties, 27 vehicles—including jet skis and motorbikes—plus cash and other items were restrained, and six members of the gang were arrested on charges ranging from methamphetamine supply to participation in an organised criminal group.
