Australia announces $45m for regional precinct infrastructure
The Australian Federal Government has announced $45 million in funding for eight projects across regional, rural, and remote areas through the Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program. The initiative aims to drive local employment, economic growth, and community resilience.
Included in this funding is $10 million dedicated to the redevelopment of the Crago Mill Cultural Precinct in Yass Valley. This project will transform the historic site into a civic and cultural hub, incorporating council services, a modern library, business facilities, and an emergency management centre. Stage 2 of the redevelopment will focus on rehabilitating the historic Crago Mill building to include a café, yarning circle, and cultural displays.
The funded projects are distributed across Western Australia, Queensland, South Australia, New South Wales, and the Northern Territory.
