Australia announces inaugural women’s wheelchair rugby team

Australia has announced its squad for the inaugural Women’s World Wheelchair Rugby Championship, which will take place in Brazil from December 1 to 5, 2026. The tournament marks the first time women’s national teams will compete for an official world title in the sport.

Paralympian Shae Graham has been named captain of the historic team. Graham, who was the first Australian woman to play wheelchair rugby at a Paralympic Games during Tokyo 2020, will lead a squad that includes Ella Sabljak, Emilie Miller, and Lilliana Prucha. This group represents the largest female contingent fielded by any nation for the championship.
