Australia Daylight Saving Time begins October 4

Daylight Saving Time is scheduled to begin in parts of Australia on Sunday, October 4, 2026. During this transition, clocks will be moved forward by one hour at 2:00 am to 3:00 am Eastern Standard Time (AEST).

The practice will be observed in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). Conversely, time zones in Queensland, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory will remain unchanged.

Daylight saving is intended to maximize evening daylight and can assist in reducing energy usage. The period is expected to conclude on Sunday, April 4, 2027.
