Australia faces injury crisis ahead of final ODI against South Africa
Australia's tour of South Africa has been significantly impacted by injuries to key players ahead of the third and final One-Day International (ODI) in Potchefstroom. Fast bowler Nathan Ellis has been ruled out due to a left side strain sustained during the second ODI, while left-arm spinner Joel Davies is also unavailable after suffering a hamstring injury while fielding as a substitute.
With South Africa already leading the series 2-0, Australia is looking to bolster its lineup for the final match. Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc are expected to return to the playing XI. Mitchell Marsh continues to captain the side, while other squad members like Ollie Peake have been recalled to address the depleted roster.
South Africa, led by stand-in captain Aiden Markram for the final match, won the toss and elected to field first. The Proteas made five changes to their lineup, resting recent century-makers Temba Bavuma and David Miller. The match was slightly delayed by a wet outfield.
