Australia launches national decarbonisation awards program

The inaugural Australian Decarbonisation Awards have been announced, with the first event scheduled for September 2027. The program is designed to recognize individuals, organizations, and projects that achieve measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

The awards will span multiple sectors, including energy, transport, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, waste, agriculture, mining, technology, and financial services. By bringing together diverse industries, the program aims to create a platform for knowledge sharing and cross-sector collaboration.

Key categories include industrial decarbonization, clean infrastructure, the circular economy, and climate technology. The program will also honor leadership through awards such as Net Zero Leader of the Year, Future Leader Award, and Outstanding Woman in Decarbonisation. Additionally, the First Nations Engagement Award will highlight meaningful partnerships with First Nations communities to support a lower-carbon transition.
