Australia names 60‑member swimming squad for 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

Australia announced a 60‑member swimming squad, known as the “Dolphins”, for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow (July 24‑August 2). The team comprises 42 able‑bodied swimmers and 18 para athletes.

The line‑up is led by world‑record holders Kaylee McKeown and Cam McEvoy, with multiple medalists such as Kyle Chalmers, Mollie O’Callaghan, Lani Pallister and Sam Short. Fifteen debutants, including 17‑year‑old breaststroker Sienna Toohey, were also selected.

Highlights from the Australian trials include McEvoy breaking the 23‑second barrier in the 50 m butterfly, Short winning four events, and several swimmers posting personal bests. Coaches expect a strong medal challenge, especially in freestyle.
