Australia names basketball and netball squads for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

Basketball Australia and Commonwealth Games Australia announced the Australian wheelchair 3×3 basketball teams that will compete in Glasgow from 24‑29 July 2026. The women's squad, the Wombats, includes veterans Hannah Dodd and Georgia Munro‑Cook and newcomers such as Taishar Ovens and Ebony Stevenson; the men’s squad features Paralympians Tom O’Neill‑Thorne, Luke Pople and others. Rob Pike will coach the women and Matt McShane the men.

Netball Australia also unveiled a 12‑player Diamonds roster to defend its Commonwealth Games title in Glasgow. Captain Liz Watson leads a side that retains several 2022 gold‑medal winners – Jo Weston, Courtney Bruce, Sarah Klau, Cara Koenen, Kate Moloney and Kiera Austin – while introducing five debutants. Head coach Stacey Marinkovich said the group mixes experience with fresh talent to meet the tournament’s demands. The Games run 23 July–2 August 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland.
