Australia Post breaks ground on new Gippsland parcel facility

Australia Post has commenced construction on a multimillion-dollar parcel facility in Gippsland, Victoria. The new Gippsland Parcel Facility is designed to consolidate Australia Post and StarTrack operations currently located in Moe, Morwell, and Traralgon into a single, modern hub.

The 10,000m² facility is expected to open in late 2027 and will utilize advanced automation capable of processing up to 5,000 parcels per hour. The investment aims to support the growth of eCommerce in the Latrobe City region, improve tracking visibility, and enhance worker safety by reducing manual handling.

Darren Mackenzie, Australia Post General Manager of Planning & Infrastructure, stated that the investment allows the company to keep pace with increasing online shopping demand in regional areas while providing more reliable services for local businesses and communities.
