Australia Post recruits 3,500 seasonal workers for holiday peak

Australia Post and StarTrack have launched a recruitment drive for more than 3,500 seasonal team members to manage increased parcel volumes during the upcoming holiday and online shopping period. The roles include truck drivers, forklift operators, parcel sorters, freight handlers, and van drivers across both metropolitan and regional Australia.

Truck driver positions with casual loading are expected to start in early September, while roles for parcel processing, freight handling, van driving, and forklift operation are slated to begin in mid-October. Most peak-period casual roles offer a rate of $35.83 per hour, with truck driver base rates starting from $42.26 per hour.

Australia Post Executive General Manager of People and Culture Sue Davies noted that seasonal staff are vital to the network's ability to deliver during its busiest time. The company reported delivering a record 111 million parcels in the lead-up to Christmas last year.
