Australia Post reopens permanent branch in Narrandera, NSW

A new Australia Post branch opened at 57 East Street in the town of Narrandera, ending months of uncertainty after the historic 100‑year‑old post office was closed in December because of lead contamination. The permanent facility consolidates postal, banking and retail services on a single accessible level, replacing a temporary site on Cadell Street.

Local business owner Leanne Ivanoff welcomed the move, saying it boosts confidence in the town centre and improves convenience for residents and businesses. Australia Post retail operations manager Sarah Coe described the fit‑out as a significant, long‑term investment aimed at providing a safe, modern, and fully accessible service. Mayor Neville Kschenka also highlighted the importance of the new, single‑floor location for the community.
