Australia seeks to deepen education ties with India
Australian High Commissioner Philip Green has emphasized the importance of strengthening education and training ties between Australia and India. Speaking at the IC3 event in Mumbai, Green identified education as one of the ‘four super-highways for growth’ established under the India-Australia Economic Roadmap.
Green noted that approximately 140,000 Indian students are currently studying in Australia. To expand educational opportunities, eight Australian universities have identified plans to open or have already begun opening campuses within India. This initiative aims to provide Indian students and parents with more choices, offering high-quality Australian education both abroad and locally through foreign branch campuses.
