Australia‑Ireland AFLW clash set for sold‑out North Sydney Oval with captains Jasmine Garner and Orla O'Dwyer

Australia will face Ireland in a representative AFLW match on Saturday at North Sydney Oval, a venue that seats about 9,000 and is expected to be sold out. The game marks the first international AFLW fixture in nearly a decade and highlights the sport’s growth among the Irish diaspora in Sydney.

North Melbourne captain Jasmine Garner, a dual premiership player, leads the Australian side, while Ireland’s captain Orla O'Dwyer – the first Irish player to earn All‑Australian honours – heads the Irish squad. Both captains expressed pride in representing their countries and excitement about the atmosphere of a full house.

The match features a 25‑player squad on each side, including AFLW stars such as Ash Riddell, Zippy Fish, Ebony Marinoff and Monique Conti for Australia, and a blend of Irish talent drawn from various AFLW clubs.
