Australian Ambassador Peter Truswell visits Tivat

Australian Ambassador Peter Truswell visited Tivat, Montenegro, where he was hosted by Mayor Željko Komnenović. The meeting focused on social and economic opportunities in Tivat, the city's future development vision, and ways to enhance cooperation between Montenegro and Australia.

A primary point of discussion was strengthening economic ties, particularly following the recent establishment of the Montenegro-Australia Business Chamber. It was noted that the Montenegrin community in Australia consists of approximately 3,000 people, providing a foundation for further connection.

Mayor Komnenović briefed the Ambassador on Tivat's recent achievements, highlighting a highly successful tourism season, while also addressing infrastructure challenges and development prospects. The discussions also touched upon Montenegro's European integration and the implications of EU membership for local self-governments. During his visit, Ambassador Truswell also met with Australian citizens living and working in the city.
