Australian Ballerina Maddy Murphy Wins Scholarship to Zurich Ballet School

Maddy Murphy, a 16‑year‑old dancer from Julia Creek in northwest Queensland, began ballet training at age five in a fruit‑shop‑turned‑studio. She later attended boarding school in Brisbane, continued her studies in Sydney after her local studio closed, and completed online schooling to focus on dance.

In March she travelled to Zurich for final auditions and secured a scholarship to the Tanz Akademie Zurich. She will depart for Switzerland in four weeks to join the prestigious ballet school and continue her training.
