Australian Broadcaster ABC to Pilot Anthropic's Claude AI for News Production

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) announced a shift in policy to trial generative AI in its newsroom. Under a new agreement with U.S. AI firm Anthropic, ABC staff will be able to use the Claude language model to help convert radio programs into written articles, with plans to expand to other tasks later. The broadcaster will also hire AI specialists to support the rollout and to ensure editorial oversight.
