Australian bull sales see strong results and high prices

Recent livestock auctions in Australia have demonstrated strong market confidence, highlighted by significant results at the Bunya Bull Sale and the Minnamurra Speckle Park annual sale.

At the Bunya Bull Sale held at the Coolabunia Saleyards, the average sale price rose to $10,152, a significant increase over previous years. The sale saw an 82 per cent clearance rate, with 46 of 56 bulls sold. The top price reached $40,000 for Carnudge Nazareth, a 36-month-old homozygous polled bull purchased by John and Shannon Williamson of Cebella and Yellowwood studs.

Separately, the Minnamurra Speckle Park 11th annual sale in Coolah saw interstate interest, with bulls traveling to far western Queensland. The sale topper was Minnamurra Vatican V57, which sold for $15,000 to Grant Wells of Elrose Station, Boulia. Wells also acquired two additional bulls, bringing his average for the three purchases to $9,000. The sale concluded with 13 of the 25 bulls offered being sold.
