Australian C-17A transport aircraft carries Vietnamese personnel to South Sudan

An Australian Royal Air Force C-17A Globemaster III military transport aircraft operated from Noi Bai International Airport on September 23 to facilitate United Nations peacekeeping efforts.

The heavy-lift aircraft transported 63 staff members from Level 2 Field Hospital No. 8 from Hanoi to South Sudan. Following this mission, the aircraft is scheduled to transport personnel from Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 back to Vietnam upon the completion of their term.

The C-17A Globemaster III is a large-scale transport aircraft capable of carrying up to 77 tons of cargo, including heavy vehicles like Abrams tanks or multiple helicopters. The Royal Australian Air Force utilizes these aircraft for long-range transport of troops, heavy equipment, and humanitarian aid.
