Australian cattle sales see high-value bull transactions

Several major Angus and Santa cattle sales in Australia have reported significant results, highlighted by a single bull exceeding the $100,000 mark at the 2026 Bullamakinka Santa Sale in Longreach.

At the Bullamakinka sale, a 19-month-old bull sired by Bullamakinka Queenslander Q80 was purchased by a buyer based near Chinchilla. The sale follows a strong 2025 performance where 75 of 76 bulls achieved a 98 per cent clearance rate.

In other livestock markets, The Rock Angus celebrated its 10th anniversary with a sale featuring high demand for performance-driven cattle. The top price was awarded to The Rock Teleporter W70, a 668-kilogram bull purchased by Curracabark Angus of New South Wales for $20,000. The bull was noted for its superior muscle expression and growth metrics.

Additionally, the Choice Angus stud held its 10th annual yearling bull sale via AuctionsPlus. The top-priced bull, Choice W381, sold for $17,000 to the Turner Family Trust of Cowra. The sale saw 42 of 59 bulls sold for an average of $7,190.
