Australian cyber threats drive NSKnox market push and Origin Energy data breach

Israeli cybersecurity firm NSKnox sees Australia’s high‑frequency cyber incidents – reported by the Australian Signals Directorate as occurring every six minutes – as a growth opportunity. Chief Operating Officer Ofer Brown told The Jerusalem Post that the country’s advanced banking sector and strong awareness of cyber fraud make it an attractive market. NSKnox, founded by CyberArk co‑founder Alon Cohen, has operated in Australia for five years and will showcase its solutions at the Jerusalem Post Australia Summit in Sydney on 19 November, bringing together senior business leaders, investors and policymakers from Australia, Israel and the wider Asia‑Pacific region.

Separately, energy retailer Origin Energy disclosed that personal data of about 900,000 current and former customers was accessed in a security breach. CEO Frank Calabria said the company is working with cybersecurity and forensic specialists to contain the incident and is conducting a review. The breach caused Origin’s shares to fall 1.1% as broader Asia‑Pacific markets slipped.
