Hanson made the comments during a Sky News interview in February 2026, suggesting there were no “good” Muslims and linking Islam to hostility toward Westerners. She later issued a partial apology, saying she was sorry if any Muslims were offended. The AFP received several complaints but determined no findings could be made against the senator. Hanson claimed the complaints were an attempt by Labor to use the hate‑speech laws against her.

The decision ends the probe without any charges, while the controversy continues to draw criticism from across the political spectrum.
