Australian Freight Industry Awards recognize transport leaders

The 36th Australian Freight Industry Awards (AFIA), hosted by the Victorian Transport Association (VTA), recently honored leaders in the transport and logistics sector at a gala in Melbourne. The awards highlighted industry responses to challenges such as decarbonisation, digital transformation, workforce retention, and emerging safety risks.

Major award recipients included Linfox for sustainability initiatives, Page Tasmanian Freight for its Australian-developed logistics technology, and Calleja Group for addressing battery fire risks. Searoad & Hunterlink received recognition for their workplace culture program focused on psychological safety and inclusion.

Senator Glenn Sterle was presented with the Industry Champion Award, the industry’s highest individual honor, for his long-term advocacy regarding road safety, transport operators, and regional Australia.
