Australian goalkeeper Patrick Beech backs coach after World Cup shootout loss to Egypt

Goalkeeper Patrick Beech said he does not blame Australia coach Tony Bobović for being substituted just before the penalty shoot‑out that saw Australia lose 4‑2 to Egypt after a 1‑1 draw in the World Cup round of 32 in Arlington, Texas. Beech explained that the decision was the coach’s and that he respects it, adding that he never discussed the substitution with Bobović.
