Australian gold explorers expand drilling at Mt York, Commonwealth–Silica Hill and Miriam's Forrest
Pilbara Gold has launched a 50,000‑metre drilling program at the Mt York gold project in Western Australia. Three diamond rigs are drilling double shifts, with two additional reverse‑circulation rigs expected in June. The campaign targets extensions of the 2.1 Moz mineralised iron formation and first results are due in late July, alongside plans for an airborne electromagnetic survey.
Impact Minerals is preparing phase‑two drilling at its Commonwealth–Silica Hill gold‑silver project in New South Wales. Six diamond holes, about 1,340 metres in total, will test extensions of a high‑grade vein that returned 27 g/t gold and 2 % silver. Joint‑venture partner Kuniko has secured the drilling rig early and may earn up to 70 % of the project by funding the exploration.
Ore Resources reported significant down‑dip and strike extensions at the Forrest prospect within the Miriam Gold Project in WA’s Goldfields region. The gold‑bearing system now spans roughly 1 km north‑south and reaches a depth of 250 m, with intercepts of 33 m @ 1.44 g/t Au and 11 m @ 1.26 g/t Au. Further drilling is planned to better define the geometry of the high‑grade shoots.
