Australian gold miners Kingsgate and Catalina report production milestone and new Mid‑West acquisitions
Kingsgate Consolidated Limited announced that its Chatree Gold Mine in Thailand has produced more than 200,000 ounces of gold and 2 million ounces of silver since the restart in March 2023. The company also detailed ongoing remediation work on Plant 1, which is operating at about 50 % of its design capacity while critical mill components are being overhauled and a spare trunnion bearing has been flown in from Queensland.
Catalina Resources Ltd reported a busy quarter that included the acquisition of four projects – Kirkalocka, Pithara, Tallering and Warriedar – expanding its Mid‑West gold portfolio in Western Australia. A $3 million placement financed the purchase and further exploration. The firm also highlighted assay results from its Central Yilgarn and Breakaway Dam projects, confirming consistent gold mineralisation and notable copper intercepts, and outlined next‑phase drilling targets across its expanding landholdings.
