Australian Grand Finals: NRL and AFL premiership deciders set

Major Australian sporting events are scheduled for the 2026 season. In the NRL, the Sydney Roosters are set to face the Newcastle Knights in the Grand Final at Accor Stadium on Sunday, October 4.

Roosters news includes the return of Sam Walker from ankle surgery, though Connor Watson's availability remains uncertain following a head injury assessment. For the Knights, selection decisions center on hooker Phoenix Crossland following a red card.

In the AFL, the Grand Final features Brisbane against Fremantle. While Fox Footy will provide coverage, Kayo Sports will broadcast a replay rather than a live match. Fans can stream the game live and free via 7plus, while international viewers can access the match through WatchAFL.
