Australian Labor MP Ed Husic on medical leave after serious Sydney motorway crash

Labor MP Ed Husic was injured in a serious car collision on Sydney's M7 motorway on 4 August 2026. A truck struck the rear‑right side of his vehicle at about 80 km/h, causing minor abrasions, fractures and a concussion. He was taken to Westmead Hospital, discharged the following day and confirmed he was not at fault.
