Australian Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg says coalition with One Nation remains possible

Liberal frontbencher Senator Andrew Bragg told Channel Nine’s Today show that the party would be “pragmatic” and could consider a coalition with Pauline Hanson’s One Nation if election‑time numbers warranted it. He emphasized that decisions on preferences would be made closer to the vote and rejected immediate speculation.

Party leader Angus Taylor has publicly ruled out adding One Nation to the Liberal‑National coalition, a stance echoed by defence spokesman James Paterson, who said the Liberals already have a traditional partner in the Nationals. Recent Newspoll data showed One Nation polling at about 30% of the primary vote, matching Labor, while the coalition sits around 19%, prompting Bragg’s comments about potential alliance under different electoral circumstances.
