Australian livestock auctions fetch $130,000 for Charolais bull and $20,000 for Merino ram

At the National Charolais Sale in Taroom, Queensland, the champion Charolais bull named Victory was sold for $130,000 to Greg and Bridgette Ehrlich of Hinchley Brahmans. The bull, a 27‑month‑old son of Moongool Pilgrim, was highlighted by Elders agents as a top-quality breeding sire.

In a separate event at Collandra North stud in Tumby Bay, South Australia, a 12‑month‑old Merino ram (Lot 3) achieved a top price of $20,000, purchased by Burtundy Station, Ivanhoe, NSW. The ram, sired by CN Imperial Collinsville, contributed to a full clearance of 129 rams and an average price of $2,426, reflecting strong demand in the Australian wool market.

Both sales underscore robust activity in Australia's livestock sector, with buyers from multiple states and international guests participating in the Charolais auction.
