Australian livestock auctions report strong demand for sheep genetics

Recent livestock auctions in Australia have shown strong demand for high-quality sheep genetics. At the annual combined White Suffolk and Suffolk ram sale between the Gumview and Willochra studs in Melrose, 127 rams achieved a full clearance. The sale saw 50 registered bidders, with Suffolk rams topping at $2,400 and White Suffolk rams topping at $2,200.

Similarly, the Hill Padua Poll Merino stud ram sale in Three Springs reported a total clearance of 131 rams. The sale saw an increase in both gross revenue and average price, with the top-priced ram selling for $6,000 to an interstate client via AuctionsPlus. The overall sale average rose to $1,767 per ram, outperforming the previous sale's results.
