Australian Mining Firms Expand Leadership: FTI Consulting Hires Senior Executives, Core Lithium Adds Director

FTI Consulting has bolstered its mining practice in Australia by appointing four Senior Managing Directors. James Chapman (Perth) joins from EY after 30 years in mining operations; Steve Dyson (Brisbane) arrives from Deloitte with 28 years of transformation experience; Franz Wentzel (Brisbane) comes from PwC with expertise in digital operations and asset management; and Dean Felton (Perth) transfers from Accenture after three decades of advisory work for resource companies.

Core Lithium has named Anna Neuling as a new independent director and chair of its Audit Committee. Neuling, formerly a senior executive at Sirius Resources and board member of MLG Oz and S2 Resources, started on July 24 as the company ramps up production at the Finniss lithium mine in the Northern Territory. Her appointment follows the departure of long‑time director Heath Hellewell, who oversaw the mine’s restart, funding package, and development plans.

Both moves reflect a broader push by Australian mining firms to strengthen senior leadership as they expand operations and prepare for future growth.
