Australian mining firms report gold production and resource growth
Native Mineral Resources Holdings Limited has reported continued gold production at its Blackjack Gold Operations near Charters Towers, Queensland. A recent smelt on 8 September 2026 produced two doré bars weighing a combined 340.9 ounces. This follows a previous smelt on 1 September that yielded 191.99 ounces of gold and 168.05 ounces of silver. The company is also advancing exploration at the Blackjack North Pit and through a joint venture at the Stockholm Tenements.
Separately, Image Resources NL announced a 43% increase in the Mineral Resource Estimate for its Durack project in Western Australia. The total mineral resources now stand at 37.7 million tonnes. The update shows an 11% increase in total contained in-situ heavy mineral, reaching 0.83 million tonnes. Additionally, the company reported a 21% increase in zircon content within the heavy mineral assemblage. These findings will support an upcoming economic evaluation of the project expected later in 2026.
