Australian National University seeks new chancellor

The Australian National University (ANU) is seeking a new chancellor following the abrupt conclusion of Julie Bishop's tenure earlier this year. Bishop previously stated that her early departure was due to "coercive threats" and "increasingly contemptuous intervention" by the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Authority.

Potential candidates for the position include former Victoria Police head Christine Nixon, as well as former Australian Chief Scientists Alan Finkel and Ian Chubb. Ian Chubb previously served as the vice-chancellor at ANU for ten years.
