Australian Native Food Festival returns to Carriageworks, Sydney
Sharon Winsor, a Weilwan woman and founder of the native food business Indigiearth, will host the Australian Native Food Festival again at Carriageworks in Sydney’s inner west on Saturday 26 September and Sunday 27 September 2026. The free‑entry market will bring together 32 Indigenous‑owned businesses from Cape York to the Kimberley, offering native spices, wild tea, bush jerky, chocolates and native plants.
The program expands on the inaugural event, featuring cooking demonstrations by Indigenous chefs Mindy Woods, Aunty Beryl Van Oploo OAM and Rayleen Brown, as well as chefs Kylie Kwong, Adam Liaw, Nat Thaipun and Colin Fassnidge. Woods will present a session on native grains with Uncle Bruce Pascoe. Additional workshops include basket‑weaving by Ngumpie Weaving and healing sessions by Ngangkari healers. Winsor, who won the 2026 Good Food Guide’s Bill Granger Trailblazer Award, said the first festival attracted about 10,000 visitors, far above the 4‑5‑thousand expected.
