Australian opener Sam Konstas aims for Test recall after strong Sheffield Shield season

Sam Konstas burst onto the international scene with a 60‑run debut for Australia against India at the 2024 Boxing Day Test, notably scoring 18 runs off Jasprit Bumrah in front of nearly 90,000 spectators. After five Tests, he was dropped following a challenging series in the West Indies and returned to domestic cricket with New South Wales. In the 2025‑26 Sheffield Shield, Konstas topped NSW’s run‑scoring list with 660 runs at an average of 33, placing fifth overall in a bowler‑friendly tournament.
