Australian political polls show decline for Labor Party

Recent polling indicates a significant downturn for the Australian Labor Party at both federal and state levels. According to The Guardian Essential Poll, Labor’s primary vote has dropped to 28 per cent, placing it on par with One Nation, while the Coalition trails at 23 per cent. The poll also noted that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s public disapproval rating has reached its highest level since he took office in 2022.

In Victoria, a Newspoll conducted ahead of the November 28 election shows the Coalition surging to a 55-45 two-party preferred lead over Labor. The Coalition secured a 33 per cent primary vote, while Labor fell to 24 per cent. The data suggests the Coalition could win an outright majority of lower house seats. Victorian Premier Ben Carroll holds a net approval rating of -28, while Liberal leader Jess Wilson maintains a +10 rating and leads as the preferred premier 48-34.
