Australian Powerball jackpot reaches $100 million
The Australian Powerball jackpot has surged to $100 million after the division one prize went unclaimed for the fifth consecutive week. This represents the highest jackpot amount in over 16 months.
If a single player wins the upcoming draw on October 15, they will secure the third-largest lottery win in Australian history. The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart noted that the jackpot reached this level because recent draws had been won, preventing the prize from climbing higher until now.
During the most recent draw on October 8, while no one won the top prize, five division two winners each received more than $200,000. The winning numbers were 20, 15, 7, 8, 10, 19, 12, with a Powerball number of 7.
Anticipation for the next draw is high, with The Lott predicting that up to half of all Australian adults may participate. For comparison, during the last $100 million jackpot in June 2025, ticket sales peaked at 8,315 tickets sold in a single minute.
