Australian horse racing stars prepare for major spring features

Several key figures in Australian horse racing are preparing for major upcoming spring fixtures at Randwick and beyond.

Trainer Tony Gollan is targeting the Furious Stakes with the three-year-old filly Pembrey, following her dominant victory in the Silver Shadow Stakes. Pembrey, currently a favorite, will see Tommy Berry take the reins from James McDonald. She faces stiff competition from contenders such as Chayan and Chilly Girl.

Jockey Chad Schofield is eyeing a path toward the $20 million Everest with the mare Tempted. As she prepares for the $1 million Concorde Stakes, Schofield noted her improved mental maturity as a four-year-old.

Other notable preparations include trainer Joe Pride discussing the longevity of the nine-year-old sprinter Private Eye ahead of the Tramway Stakes, and jockey Nash Rawiller seeking a successful return with Lindermann in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes.
