Australian regional football sees finals venue shift and record 70-disposal performance

The Northern Tasmanian Football Association (NTFA) has moved its Division 1 and Division 2 grand finals from UTAS Stadium to community venues for Saturday, 12 September, with the premier league final scheduled for 19 September. NTFA president Peter Gutwein said the changes consider travel distances, venue facilities and the desire to improve the spectacle for players and fans.

In the North West Football League (NWFL), Latrobe’s Josh Ponting recorded a remarkable 70‑disposal effort in the round 13 victory over East Devonport on 18 July. The performance earned him three votes toward the season‑ending Baldock Medal, extending his lead in the award count as the competition approaches its final month.
