Several Australian sporting organizations and entities have announced new strategic partnerships. La Trobe Financial has entered a multi-year partnership with the NFL in Australia, coinciding with the inaugural NFL game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on September 11 between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.

In rugby league, private equity firm EQT has acquired a majority stake in the NRL club Melbourne Storm. The investment aims to strengthen the club’s football program, player pathways, and fan experience, subject to approval from the Australian Rugby League Commission.

Additionally, Table Tennis Australia has secured a partnership with Banner Asset Management. The collaboration is intended to bolster high-performance pathways and provide financial support for Australian athletes competing on the global stage.
