Australian states compete for NFL hosting rights

Australian states are competing to host future NFL games following the league's debut in Melbourne. While Victoria currently holds a four-year deal to host at least two games, NFL officials have indicated that matches could be distributed to different cities once the current contract expires.

Queensland has expressed strong interest in hosting, with officials noting the state is a world-class sporting destination. New South Wales has also indicated openness to conversations regarding hosting capabilities in Sydney.

The inaugural regular-season game in Australia features the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The Melbourne event is expected to provide a significant economic boost, with high hotel occupancy and a large number of spectators traveling from interstate and overseas.
