Australian transport authorities issue travel warnings for major sporting events
Transport authorities in Australia are issuing travel advisories ahead of major sporting events in Sydney and Perth.
In Sydney, approximately 80,000 fans are expected for the NRL and NRLW Grand Finals at Accor Stadium. Officials urge attendees to use public transport, noting that match tickets include travel on all modes of public transport. Express and limited-stop trains will run from Central and Western Line stations, and major event buses will operate frequently. Drivers are advised to pre-book parking to avoid delays.
In Perth, the Public Transport Authority has warned Fremantle Dockers fans to plan commutes early for the qualifying final against Hawthorn at Optus Stadium. Between 30,000 and 40,000 attendees are expected to use the train system. Because the Thursday night match coincides with peak CBD commute hours, officials recommend leaving 40 to 60 minutes earlier than usual to ensure smooth transitions between services.
